military sonar solutions, which specializes in high-resolution sonar and acoustic systems for
precision seafloor exploration announced today that the U.S. Navy has awarded it a five year
ID/IQ contract with a maximum value at completion of $8.3M.
Under the contract, the company will repair and restore DT-699 high frequency sail array
(HFSA) hydrophone modules and TR-364 HFSA projectors used on the US Navy fleet of attack

sound energy in detecting mines on U.S. submarines.
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, R.I., is the contracting agency.
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) is the Navy's full-spectrum research,
development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support center for submarines,
autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive weapons systems associated
with undersea warfare.
“This is a critical program for the U.S. Navy and we are proud to be able to participate”, said
Robert Tarini, Chief Executive Officer of SyQwest. This was a very competitive bid that was
thoroughly analyzed by the U.S. Navy’s technical and business teams. Ultimately, SyQwest
was awarded the business based on our developed expertise in acoustic sensors and
electronics as well as our very cost effective price structure. Having core competencies in these
areas has always been a source of competitive advantage in our business strategy, and will
continue to be a factor in our growth in both the commercial and military sonar marketplace.”
The company also announced that it will be expanding its Warwick, RI facility by adding a fully
instrumented 75,000 gallon acoustic test tank.
